Rev. Charles M. Franklin, Jr. is the Pastor of Ray of Hope Baptist Church in Baltimore, Maryland, where he and his congregation believes that “Everybody Needs a Ray of Hope.” Born in Stamford, Connecticut, Pastor Franklin is the younger of two children born to the late Rev. Dr. Charles M. Franklin, Sr. and Dr. Daisy W. Franklin. He is married to the former Ayanna Malachi, and is the proud father of five, Ciara Renee, Cianna Alexis, Charles Mathews, III, Cordell Maxwell, and Clarke Mariah.
Educated in the Baltimore City Catholic School System, Pastor Franklin received a Bachelor's Degree in Telecommunications from Morgan State University and a Master of Divinity Degree from Virginia Union University. A descendant of a long line of ministers and educators, Pastor Franklin was both licensed and ordained in May 2000. His pastoral installation occurred in August 2007.
Pastor Franklin has had numerous education and professional experiences that have molded him into the bold leader he is today. Pastor Franklin served on the Board of Regents United Baptist College & Seminary of the United Baptist Missionary Convention of Maryland & Auxiliaries, Inc. and currently serves as the Chairman of Congress of Christian Education for the Maryland Baptist Convention.
